Vanessa Womack is a skilled facilitator in leadership, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), soft skills, strategic planning for boards, and team dynamics. As an experienced course designer, she developed a LinkedIn Learning course, “Managing A Diverse Team,” launched in 2018. The audio course on Listenable, “Practicing DEI Can Improve Organizational Culture,” launched in 2020. Ms. Womack is astute in maximizing training using various remote technologies.

She is a BoardSource Certified Governance Consultant and has conducted governance training in Virginia, D.C., and North Carolina. Vanessa’s community engagement and leadership roles included a former president of the board of directors of Virginia Heroes Incorporated and a former advisory council member for the Virginia Commonwealth University – Grace E. Harris Leadership Institute Minority Political Leadership Institute and Initiatives of Change.

Other experiences included Lead Faculty-Area Chair/University of Phoenix Local Campus – Richmond, VA. She is a member of Leadership Metro Richmond (LQ 2006) in Richmond, Virginia. She has facilitated community dialogue through Initiatives of Change/Hope in the Cities’ presentation, Unpacking 2010 Census: The Realities of Race, Class, and Jurisdiction. Vanessa earned her undergraduate degree from Baruch College and graduated degree from Averett University.

Vanessa just published her first children’s book, “Emerald Jones: The Fashion Designer Diva,” that focuses on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). She has authored a romance novel, “Paint the Sky Purple,” and co-author, ‘The Female CEO: Pearls, Power & Passion.’
